Fall Softball Update (8/22/2020)
We had an overwhelming turnout of registrations for Fall Ball! As a result, we are adjusting our plans to give all players a chance to play, develop their skills and have fun. Here is our plan broken out by each age group.
10U In Town Play
We will form 2 balanced teams that will practice and play against each other on Sundays 12-2pm for 5 weeks starting September 13th. This will allow us to focus on teaching the girls fundamentals, develop pitching/catching and allow them to showcase their skills in a live game. Each player will receive a game shirt. The player fee for this age group will be $50.
12U/14U In Town Play
We will form 4 balanced teams made up of both 12U and 14U players that will play double headers against each other on Sundays 2:30-5pm for 4 weeks starting September 13th and culminate in a playoff round on the 5th Sunday. Each player will receive a game shirt. The player fee for this age group will be $80.
14U Fall Travel Team
We will form a competitive team that will play in the 14U division of the Baystate league. The team will play doubleheaders against surrounding towns both home and away on Sundays for 5 weeks followed by a playoff round. Once we get the schedule from the league we will provide it. Player selections for this team will be made by the EGSL board based on the recent evaluations. Players selected will be notified within the next few days and be given the option to play for the 14U Travel Team or play in the 12U/14U In Town Play season. We are excited to have Todd Marino coach this team who has coached in our travel program the last few years. Players will wear their Summer Travel team jerseys and the league will order jerseys for the players who did not participate in Summer Travel. The league will also look at purchasing pullover logo jerseys that the players can wear all year long. The player fee for this age group will be $100.
18U Fall Travel Team
We will form a competitive team that will play in the 18U division of the Baystate league. The team will play doubleheaders against surrounding towns both home and away on Sundays for 5 weeks followed by a playoff round. Once we get the schedule from the league we will provide it. Player selections for this team have already been made and players have been notified. We are fortunate to have Hayley Allen back to coach the team. She has vast experience coaching past Easton Travel teams and other club teams. Players will wear their Summer Travel team jerseys and the league will order jerseys for the players who did not participate in Summer Travel. The league will also look at purchasing pullover logo jerseys that the players can wear all year long. The player fee for this age group will be $100.
With the tremendous turnout, we are happy to be able to put together a program that will serve all of the softball players in Easton this fall. In addition to this, we are also looking at holding various clinics this fall for players to develop more skills and grow, so look for announcements on this in the near future.
Over the coming days we will create an invoice in your SportsPilot account for you to make payment and send additional communications out. Should you decide not to have your daughter play, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to let us know and simply cancel the invoice.
Once we select coaches for the remaining teams, each coach will reach out to the players to welcome them and provide practices times.
Should you have any questions, feel free to email email@example.com.
